The december workcamp in the Kakamega Environmental Education Project (KEEP) has been finished sucessfully. 24 volunteers were involved in different environmental conserving activities over 3 weeks. They planted over 1500 trees, help to build an educational snakepark and made brickets from old papers as a substitude for firewood form the forest. Together with KEEP and the local community our volunteers helped to sustain the forest and to create a higher awareness of its needs.
This was our last workcamp for 2009. CIVS likes to thank everybody who participated and contributed to our workcamps this year. In 2010 there will be 17 new workcamps all over Kenya with we are looking forward to.
If you like to join one of the 2010 workcamps please apply as early as possible to avoid disappointments.
