You can join our Long Term Programs for 1 up to 12 month, depending on the time you can spare. You can choose between 25 different projects all over Kenya, like Orphanages, Schools, Microfinance, Environmental Conservation, Agricultural Training & Conservation or Arts. All programs are organized in cooperation with our local partners.

You can find the details of every program below. You can choose the project that suits you best. We are very much looking forward to welcome you at CIVS Kenya.

Chesire Vocational Centre

Location: Tigoni village, Central Province

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will be involved in non formal teaching through individual education program, preparation and serving of meals together with girls and teaching Computer skill to the girls.

CIVS Community Service (CIVS)

Location: Buruburu Estate, Nairobi

Type: Long-term Program

The volunteers will be involved in fundraising efforts for community development projects.

Kaya Kinondo Ecotourism Project

Location: Kwale District

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will be involved in Education programs, Enterprise management (ecotourism and microfinance), Marketing, Ecosystem survey and assessment and Environmental and cultural awareness.

Flomina Children’s Home

Location: Kayole estate, Nairobi East District

Type: Long-term Program

The volunteers will engage in working on organizational/office work which will include generation of fund-raising ideas, helping in the kitchen in food preparation and serving of meals, promotion of creative arts and playing with children.

Children Rescue Mission

Location: Winam, Kisumu East

Type: Long-term Program

The mission was founded following an increasing need for care of the increasing number of orphan children in Winam, Kisumu. volunteers will be involved in caring for the orphaned and vulnerable children.

Safisha Africa Welfare Foundation

Location: Mowlem slum in Dandora, Nairobi

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will assist in teaching and caring for the children, preparing and serving of meals and fundraising activities especially for educational materials.

Hope and Faith Centre

Location: Thika District, Central Province

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will be involved in teaching i.e. non formal through individual education program, preparing and serving meals to the children, laundry work, bead work and home to home visits.

Little Prinz Children’s Help

Location: Shinyalu village, Kakamega East District

Type: Long-term Program

The group helps the neglected, abandoned and orphaned children and also in eradicating jiggers. Volunteers will be involved in care and maintenance of the children‘s home, jigger treatment and eradication and compiling reports.

Marrianne Centre

Location: Kiambu District, Wanguyu Location

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will be involved in teaching activities, training computers packages, organizing extra-curricular activities, helping in general work and providing guidance and counseling services to the students.

Rosemary Vocational Centre

Location: Rongai, Nairobi

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will be involved in playing with the children, planning creative vocational activities, arranging for visitors tours, initiating sustainable mini projects, participating in managerial planning among other activities.

Rural Visions Children’s Centre

Location: Kayole estate, Nairobi East Region

Type: Long-term Program

The center provides a home and caters for basic needs of orphaned children. Volunteers will be involved in teaching, food preparation, games and fund raising activities.

Joy Valley Children’s Home

Location: Kayole, Nairobi

Type: Long-term Program

The volunteers will be involved in teaching, taking care of the children, playing with them, sports activities, fundraising for the project, creative arts training and guidance and counseling.

Upendo Children’s Village

Location: Ukunda, South of Mombasa

Type: Long-term Program

The home provides children with a permanent and loving home, good education and to prepare them for a self-dependent life.Volunteers will take care of, play, and feed the children, They will also ensure the compound is clean and help the children with homework.

Community Health Volunteers

Location: Virhembe Market, Kakamega East District

Type: Long-term Program

The volunteers will work in the dispensary assisting the medical staff, and also at the computer training center teaching basic computer skills.

Pema Educational Centre

Location: Buruburu, Nairobi

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will be involved in teaching the children (early childhood development), teaching in the adult education program and they will be involved in public health education and awareness programs.

Location: Mathare slums, East of Nairobi

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will be involved in training like photography, videography, drama, music, video and documentary production, animation and design.

Tunza Children’s Home

Location: Ngong Town, Nairobi

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will engage in working on organizational/office work which will include generation of fundraising ideas, helping in the kitchen in food preparation and cooking, promotion of education and other related affairs.

Little Bees Children’s Centre

Location: Huruma, Nairobi

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will be involved in teaching, fundraising for the project, workshops on reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, drug and substance abuse, meals preparation, promotion of skills and talents, organizing debates and guidance and counseling.

Njiru Community Progressive Focus Centre

Location: Njiru Slums in Nairobi

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will be involved in teaching activities in various subjects, caring for the children and playing with them and also fundraising efforts for educational materials.

Kiereni Secondary School

Location: Chuka District, Kiereni Location

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will be involved in teaching a combination of science subjects and Mathematics, organizing, coordinating and participating in extracurricular activities like athletics, football, and coordination of clubs in the school like scouting, drama, music, environmental conservation and farm work.

Bethel Ministries School

Location: Maai-Mahiu, Rift Valley Province

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will engage in teaching Mathematics, English, Chemistry, Biology, and Business Studies. They will also employ the use of sporting activities to further create responsibility, team work and creativity in the students.

Southern Stars Junior School

Location: Kwale District

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will engage in the following activities: Teaching i.e. Mathematics, English and Social Studies. Helping in preparation and serving of meals during the feeding program, sports, drama and music.

Youth for Life-Kenya

Location: Athi River,Nairobi

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will engage in organizing and carrying out trainings on safe sex, reproductive health drug abuse, HIV/AIDS prevention, distribution of sanitary towels to needy girls.

Living In Total Health Initiative

Location: Kiambio Slum in Nairobi East

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will be involved in nursing duties, labaratory assistance, record keeping/data collection, patient follow up and social work i.e. HIV/AIDS counseling home visits and follow up.

Sunflower Education Centre

Location: Emuhaya District, Western Kenya

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will be responsible for working together with the local teachers in helping to teach variuos subjects. The volunteers will also assist in the feeding program i.e. preparing the meals on a daily basis as well as feeding the children.

NIXJ Super Savers

Location: Mombasa, Coast Province

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will be involved in teaching Mathematics, English and Science at the kindergarten as well as the lower primary school, assisting in preparation of meals for the orphans feeding program, ports activities as well as training the children on creative arts.

St. Charles Lwanga Children’s Centre

Location: Ruai, Nairobi

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteers will be involved in offering lessons in Math, English and sciences, assisting in the kitchen department in preparation of meals, guidance and counseling. Volunteers with special skills such as carpentry, tailoring, bead making and sign language are also highly needed.

Kyale Small Home

Location: Nunguni Village, Eastern Province

Type: Long-term Program

Volunteer will work alongside the housemother providing basic needs to the children, work in the home’s kitchen and vegetable garden and help children study and play at home. Volunteers will also work in the promotion of education among the children. They will also train the kids in creativity through games and doing handicraft work.
